The Penguinr/c P2020 Performance Chassis is is designed to enhance the already stellar performance characteristics of the current Tamiya TA05. The P2020 is comprised of a specially designed dual deck chassis which increases the stiffness of the base car by eliminating many of the flexible plastic components with high strength lightweight quasi-grade graphite plate.

This kit includes all the plates and hardware that you need for conversion. Advancements that have been incorporated into this conversion kit include changes in the battery placement to place more weight toward the front of the car for better steering response and improved balance through high speed corners. Adjustments have been made to the steering ackerman to improve steering linearity for a smoother driving experience. Motor protection is provided with a raised graphite brace to protect the endbell and a special milled chassis for improved motor cooling to keep power to the wheels.

Optional for this chassis are specially designed quasi-grade graphite shock towers that increase the linearity and amount of adjustment availible to the TA05. Both the front (P2026) and the rear (P2027) shock towers include 5 shock angle adjustments arranged upon the shock arc so that changes in shock angle do not adversely affect vehicle ride height. This allows for quicker changes to the suspension dampening allowing for more track time and less time in the pits. Additionally the rear shock tower includes a graphite body mount plate that retains the stock Tamiya mounting locations to ease conversion from the TA05 to the P2020.

Further options for the P2020 include a Graphite Front Bumper Brace (P2028), Graphite Steering Drag Link (P2023), and specialized Rear Toe Adjustment Plates (P2027t1 or 2). The P2028 front bumper brace provides more strength to the front of the vehicle. This allows minor collisions to have little, to no effect on the body helping to retain consistent aerodynamics and fewer DNF's due to vehicle damage. The special P2020 rear toe plate kits are availible in two sets. One set contains plates to adjust the static rear toe at the chassis to 0°, 1°, and 2° (P2027t1) where the second set provides plates that adjust toe settings to -.5°, .5° and 1.5° (P2027t2). Both of these kits allow you to adjust the characteristics that the P2020 has when entering and exiting a corner by altering the rear steer characteristics the vehicle exibits.
