These Paddle Shift Units are of a single action momentary switched designed specifically for use as paddle shifters in a simulation racing set-up. Tension on these paddle switches is provided by an independant spring that can be changed as needed. A wide range of feel from very soft to very firm anctuation with different initial tension can be acheived through the use of different spring tensions, preloading, and travel limits (PS1003 series of parts). The PS1000 comes with a Medium Spring (PS1003_m) standard which provides excellent tactile feel with little finger fatigue.

These switches are made from lightweight 3K Woven Carbon Garphite plate which exhibit a very high strength to weight ratio. The micro switches employed for use in these switches are rated for 5 over million actualtions for a long life span and can be replaced easily. The design of these paddle shift units releives tension on the micro switch to prevent premature failure.

This paddle set is designed to be extremely narrow for small diameter formula style wheels. It is designed to replace the standard adjustible lever in the Switch, In doing so the adjustibility in the width is eliminated in favor of the compact nature of the design. The Paddle size falls a little between the Small and Large adjustible styles. This paddle set is made out of high quality multi directional reinforced US produced M3.0 Carbon Fiber plate in a 3K weave pattern.

The preload spacer kit allows you to adjust the initial trigger feel of the Paddle Switch units by adding preload to the spring. When preload is added, resistance to initial motion is increased creating a firm paddle release without changing the rate and tension of the spring. This kit allows up to 4mm of preload to be added to each switch in the set. In addition this kit provides the screws and spacers to adjust the travel limit of the paddle when mounting to a variety of plates

You can fine tune the tactile feel of your paddle set through the use of different amounts of preload, spring weights, and travel.

The preload spacers are added below the spring mount bushing, around the travel limit screw. You can add as many spacers as you would like, however, at some point you will make the spring ineffective as it will limit the travel of the paddle. If you are adding significant pre-load to get the feel you want, you may actually acheive a better feel by moving to the next higher spring weight.

Note: Using preload gives a snappier feel to the paddles.

The limiting screws and spacers are to provide you with the ability to limit the travel securely on the paddles as opposed to the normal method of just backing out the screw. Designed to allow the seating of the limiting screws at anywhere from 13-17mm from the switch (full to minimum travel). You can use the small limiting washers between the screw and the Base of the switch to finetune the length in .5mm increments to finetimne the total switch travel

This Mounting plate is designed to allow easy mounting of our paddles to any steering wheel with a 70mm or 74mm PCD Steering wheel (Momo/Sparco 70mm PCD, Nardi/Personal 74mm PCD). Solid mounting locations of 10mm allow for infinate adjustment of the distance of the paddles from each other to fine tune positioning. This plate is made out of high quality multi directional reinforced US produced M3.0 Carbon Fiber plate in a 3K weave pattern. In order to increase the structural rigidity of the plate (especially when using higher tension springs) we have designed this plate to work with the PS1004_05 reinforcement kit.

The PS1004_01 plate is capable of being used on steering wheels from 280 - 320mm in Diameter though it is suggested that the PS1004_02 Paddle plate be used instead on this diameter steering wheel as the length of the mounting arms could interfear with usage. The plate length can be trimmed if needed without structural issue.

This Mounting plate set is designed to adapt the use of the PS1000 Paddle Switches to any Fanatec wheel that uses the CSW Quick release mechanism Including the BMW GT Wheel and the Formula Wheel (the P1002_L_01 paddle is reccomended when mounting to the Formula Wheel). The plates offer both vertical height and width adjustments to allow you to position the paddles where you best feel they work for you. The 10mm width adlustment allows for infinate paddle positioning over a 20mm span on each side. The Vertical adjustment allows for centerline or upper offset positioning of the paddles as standard for Fanatec GT wheels.
